classes

My classes are primarily slow flow, designed to help you move mindfully and connect with your body. While gentle to moderate in pace, they can be surprisingly powerful, depending on the energy in the room, the season and the students present. I incorporate many elements of yoga - asana, pranayama, meditation and mantra - so each class is a holistic experience, not just a workout.I highly value financial and social accessibility, so all classes are affordable and welcoming to all. MVP classes are donation-based, Shadowglen classes are $7-$10 sliding scale and Whisper Valley classes are free for residents.

Yoga therapy

UPDATE AS OF MAY 2025: Due to a new career transition, I am pausing all private sessions until 2026. If you are interested in private virtual or in person yoga therapy offerings, I humbly refer you to the wonderful team at My Vinyasa Practice: http://www.myvinyasapractice.comWhat is Yoga Therapy?Gary Kraftsow, American Viniyoga Institute: “Yoga therapy, derived from the Yoga tradition of Patanjali and the Ayurvedic system of health care refers to the adaptation and application of Yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges at any level manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve attitude.”Using a client intake and assessment, Yoga Therapists look at the individual from a holistic, whole person lens to identify areas of imbalance. The Yoga Therapist guides the client towards balance using the practices found within Yoga methodology and philosophy. A client will work with these practices, both during one to one or small group sessions, as well as at home and in their daily lives. Progress is continuously evaluated and measured and the practices are refined along the way as needed.Who is Yoga Therapy For?Generally, Yoga Therapy is for anyone who is seeking to improve their physical, energetic, mental, and/or spiritual well-being. I have worked with clients who have a broad range of experiences, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, ADHD, trouble sleeping, substance abuse and IBS.Working with MeYoga Therapy is a commitment to oneself and because of this, I require clients to book a minimum of two sessions to work with me. We will spend the first session going over your intake form and assessment, and have a brief discussion to go over any questions either of us may have. I will then guide you through a short Yoga practice (roughly 30 minutes), followed by a discussion about your experience. We will collaborate on your post-session guidelines and establish an accessible at-home practice (“homework”) for you to explore between sessions. This may include aspects of the practice done during the session, links to meditations or other practice videos, and/or skill-based work such as journaling. Follow-up sessions will include energetic check-ins, reviewing homework, exploring additional practices/refining your initial practices, and reviewing your progress.Session Types + CostI offer virtual and in-person sessions, 1-1 and for small groups.Small group sessions are limited to 3 practitioners at maximum. The cost for small groups is the same base rate for 1-1s, plus $10 per additional practitioner.
