Reiki was first introduced over 100 years ago by Dr. Mikao Usui, and is now a widely practiced Japanese technique for relaxation and stress reduction. The practitioner acts as a channel for the Reiki and transfers the energy through the hands, either in person or from a distance. There are many benefits that may occur after receiving Reiki including (but not limited to) deep relaxation, increased vitality, stress reduction, stronger immune response, better sleep, and a sense of overall well-being. As a certified practitioner, I offer Reiki services as an add-on to my private in-person and virtual yoga sessions.
Reiki is a beautiful complement to a yoga practice, as the individual remains completely clothed and receives the energy in a relaxed position, or in this case, in savasana on the ground or in a chair. Channeling is performed during a period of silence, and individuals are invited to make any adjustments as necessary throughout the duration.
Reiki can be given via hands on or off methods, and as your practitioner, I will always honor your needs. Reiki can also be given at any distance, making it an accessible practice for virtual clients. Individuals may feel warmth, tingling, lightness, or nothing at all! Every experience is different and valid, and doesn’t affect the reception of energy. I hope that knowing this allows you to release your expectations prior to a session so you can simply experience whatever flows in.
Reiki+ (Yoga Nidra)
Reiki+ is a dual add-on for private yoga sessions that incorporate two of my most beloved practices: Reiki and Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is both a practice and state of being, where we journey in the space between sleep and waking through a guided meditative technique. You can find a detailed description by clicking here.
I am experienced both practicing and guiding a variety of Yoga Nidra techniques, and we will work closely together prior to a session to find the technique that’s right for you. This includes a simple phone call or text chat soon after booking.
